About
Elizabeth Roseborough is a local, state and national award winning retired mathematics teacher, turned artist. After years spent teaching Geometry through Calculus in the Pittsburgh Public Schools, she used her formidable technical drawing skills, added color and shading to develop her artistic style.
With expertise in realistic oil painting, Elizabeth Roseborough picked up a palette knife, capturing unique emotions in oil and acrylic. Next she added water media and pastel to her skill set with obvious success. After taking photographs for painting references, she realized that photography was a stand alone art form she should try. Buyers agreed and photography was added to her expertise.
She is a member of the Pittsburgh Society of Artists, the Pittsburgh Pastel Artists League, the McMurray Art League, the Whitehall Art League, and the Upper St. Clair League for the Arts, she has exhibited in juried local, regional, and national shows. With several awards of merit, she recently added two Best of Show awards, at the Butler Associated Artists Nature and Wildlife Exhibit 2020 and the Latrobe Art Center 2021 Open Show. She has an oil in the permanent collection at Latrobe High School. Her work is on display year round at the Latrobe Art Gallery, in Latrobe, PA.
